CAREO’CLOCK Medical and Staffing Services was founded in 2023 by two dedicated healthcare professionals who collectively bring 22 years of hands-on experience in home care and medical staffing across Nova Scotia.
Throughout their careers, our founders witnessed a consistent gap between families who needed reliable home care and qualified caregivers who were ready to serve. Consequently, they set out to build a smarter solution that places trust, transparency, and patient-centred values at the very centre of every interaction. Today, CAREO’CLOCK operates as a full-service home care staffing platform, bridging that gap with technology that is as warm and human as the care it facilitates.

Every caregiver on our platform undergoes a structured onboarding process. We verify CCA certifications, review experience, and ensure compliance before any caregiver is ever matched with a client.

Clients see clearly itemised rates before they book. Moreover, our secure payment flow confirms the caregiver’s identity and service before any charges are finalised with no surprises, ever.
Structured visit documentation
Caregivers check in, log visit details, and check out through our platform. Consequently, families and administrators always have an accurate, timestamped record of every home care visit.

Home care inherently involves some of the most sensitive personal health information (PHI) a person possesses. Accordingly, CAREO’CLOCK treats data protection not as a checkbox, but as a core operational value.
Our platform is designed from the ground up to align with Nova Scotia’s Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and applicable federal privacy legislation. Additionally, we continuously review our practices as regulations evolve, so our clients and caregivers can always rely on us to keep their information safe.
Time-limited PHI access tokens
Caregivers access client PHI only through short-lived, single-use tokens that activate within a controlled window before each visit minimising unnecessary exposure at every turn.
Iterated credential hashing
All passwords are secured using iterated HMAC-SHA256 hashing. As a result, user credentials are never stored in a recoverable form anywhere in our systems.
Full audit logging
Every data change including before and after values is recorded in a tamper-resistant audit log. This means we maintain a clear, accountable trail for every administrative action taken.
Automated session and token management
Sessions expire automatically, and all tokens including password reset and email verification tokens are purged on a scheduled basis to reduce the surface area for unauthorised access.
Daily encrypted backups
We run automated daily backups with a defined retention policy, ensuring that client and caregiver data is protected against loss while not accumulating beyond operational necessity.
Role-based access controls
Clients, caregivers, and administrators each access only the data their role requires. Furthermore, authentication rate limiting actively protects against brute-force credential attacks.
