Why families call
Discharge can be safe on paper and still feel hard at home.
Families often get a discharge date before enough practical support is in place. A parent may need help bathing, moving safely, eating, remembering medications, or simply not being alone while everyone adjusts.
CareO’Clock is built for this gap. We help families arrange short-term, private, non-clinical support so the first days at home feel less improvised.
Mobility changed
Extra support for movement, routines, and fall-risk awareness after illness, surgery, or a hospital stay.
Family is stretched
Respite coverage when relatives are working, exhausted, out of town, or managing other responsibilities.
Public care is pending
Bridge support while Continuing Care hours, family schedules, or longer-term arrangements are still being finalized.
What we provide
Practical home support that keeps the plan from falling apart.
Help with daily living
Bathing, grooming, dressing support, mobility assistance, light meal preparation, medication reminders, and appointment routines within caregiver scope.
Keep the home manageable
Light housekeeping, laundry, errands, grocery support, and the small practical tasks that can overwhelm a family during recovery.
Respite and companionship
Trusted presence for clients who should not be left unsupported, and breathing room for spouses, adult children, and family caregivers.
Clear intake and follow-up
Direct family intake, scheduling, reminders, visit documentation, and follow-up when something needs attention.
Honest scope
What CareO’Clock does not replace
CareO’Clock does not replace emergency response, physician care, nursing, rehab, VON services, Continuing Care case management, or hospital discharge planning. We provide private, non-clinical bridge support for families when the care need fits our scope.
- If the situation is urgent or unsafe, call emergency services or the clinical care team first.
- We follow clear fit or no-fit guidance so families do not book the wrong kind of help.
How it works
A simpler path from discharge concern to home support.
1. Share the situation
Tell us the location, preferred start date, discharge context, and the support needed at home.
2. Confirm fit
CareO’Clock checks service area, scope, timing, and whether the requested support is appropriate.
3. Schedule care
When appropriate, the family books online or with office support, then receives reminders and follow-up.

Frequently asked questions
Questions families ask before booking bridge care
Is this public home care?
No. CareO’Clock provides private home support. Families can still contact Nova Scotia Continuing Care for public home care assessment and services.
How quickly can support start?
Timing depends on location, service needs, caregiver availability, and safety fit. We prioritize urgent bridge-care requests and respond the same day when possible.
Can hospital staff book for the family?
The family contacts CareO’Clock directly. Hospital, clinic, discharge, or social-work teams can share the page or our contact information with families.
What areas do you serve?
